Trump’s Gift to America; His Promises
Early on in 2015, pundits and nearly all of the media agreed there was no way Trump could or would have the audacity to prove them wrong, and become President of the United States. As I stood next to the stage many times and listened to him tell the audience, “I don’t need to do this folks, I have a great business and a great family. The only reason I’m doing this is I can’t stand to watch what’s being done to our great country any longer, and no one else will do what’s necessary to fix it”. Candidate Trump was making incredible promises to the American people. Promises that most said he just couldn’t keep. However, this was a man who wasn’t slinging the usual political rhetoric simply to be the most powerful person on the planet. Most elected presidents do not uphold some of their most prominent campaign promises after they’re elected. Not the case with POTUS 45. This is a man who took this job for one reason, and one reason only. Because he loves his country.
George W. Bush promised tax cuts which would translate into jobs. His reality was the unemployment rate during his time in power went from 4.2 percent to 7.8 percent, with the country falling into the grips of recession. A far cry from what now President Trump promised during his campaign. That he would bring jobs back from overseas, bring back companies who left because of the 35 percent corporate tax rate, the highest in the world, and put in place by Obama. President Trump had it reduced to 21 percent, which has our current unemployment rate down to an all-time low of 3.7 percent. Say that again, 21 percent corporate tax rate equals 3.7 percent U.S. unemployment. With unemployment so low, many businesses are finding it difficult to find quality help. Therefore, companies are paying higher wages to attract that help. The Trump Administration has added more than 4 million jobs within just two short years. Promise kept.
Obama committed to more regulations on businesses in America than any previous President. This had a staggering effect on our GDP (Gross Domestic Product). By and large, GDP is the basis of how we, as a country, determine how our economy is measured. Trump promised to end these business stifling regulations, and has done so in his first two years. Hence our economy is steam rolling ahead at a rate unseen in decades. Some of the benefits of this are that many companies are now paying more into their employees 401k’s for example. Overall, most businesses are seeing an increase to their bottom line, which in most cases bodes well for the work force. Promise kept.
Our military had been decimated over Obama’s miserable 10 years. That’s what Democrats do, deplete the American military strength. They reduce funding the military and utilize much of those funds toward social programs. Why? In order to keep the vote of the disillusioned people receiving those funds right in their pocket. During Bill Clintons time in office, he and Hillary reduced our military might to such a low, that we could not have fought and won a war on both sides of our continent as we did in WWII. We had an Army veteran who helped us on the Trump Strike Team, who was in the service during Obama’s time in office. He once told me they quite often were depleted of ammunition for target practice at the shooting ranges on base. President Trump promised to rebuild our military and pushed Congress to dedicate 700 billion dollars to do so. He understands that through history, when America is militarily strong, the world is safer from the evil which exists. Promise kept.
Speaking of our military. For decades our Veterans Administration was so poorly managed that our war heroes were being left in hallways for hours and days in some cases waiting for care. Candidate Trump was outraged that we as a country cared more about the illegal immigrants crossing our borders, than our own actual heroes, and promised to fix it. Today, according to Quality & Governance News, nearly 75 percent of Veteran Affairs hospitals have improved on care quality. As a matter of fact, President Trump donated his 2017 first quarter salary to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Promise kept.
It’s pathetically hypocritical how todays democratic leadership was against illegal immigration and for a border wall during Obama’s two terms. Because of their hatred for President Trump, they’ve flipped on both topics. Candidate Trump promised Americans he’d stop illegal immigration and build a wall along our southern border. If not for the swamp, he’d have it done by now. But politicians on both sides are to blame for it not being completed, yet. This is the next critically important campaign promise Trump made, and he’s doing everything in his power to keep it. And by doing so, he’s showing the American public exactly what the democratic leadership are all about, traitors. Traitors who care more about illegal immigrants than American citizens and our safety.
There are many other important promises which this President has kept, such as two Supreme Court nominations. President Trump has surpassed all previous presidents in keeping his word. That’s why America voted for a businessman to make America great again, rather than another politician.
