I didn’t get where I am by sitting on my backside and dreaming about abundance.

Don’t get me wrong, I did think about success a lot and I do believe in manifestation, but here’s something I absolutely know for certain…

No amount of thinking and day dreaming will work without ACTION!

Anyone can think themselves into becoming a billionaire, movie star, pop idol, model or top level coach, sitting on Oprah’s couch every other Sunday, but the cold, hard reality soon comes crashing back the second we open our eyes.

Dreaming up elaborate futures for yourself and soaking up the temporary buzz those visions bring is a bit like wetting your pants… you’ll get a nice, warm feeling, but nobody else will notice.

People, if you want MORE, you need to make a choice. You can keep thinking about it, or you can get off the sofa, create a plan and start making things happen.

Let me be absolutely clear for a moment here, before going any further…I am not a billionaire, by any stretch. I’m not a movie star, pop idol or model and I’ve never had tea with Oprah.

But… I’m a darn sight closer to my dreams than I used to be when I was just journaling about it and making pretty vision boards!

  • TV appearances? Yep.
  • Radio? Yep.
  • Media coverage? Yep.
  • Full client list and forward bookings? Yep.
  • Clients all over the world? Yep.
  • Speaker on global stages? Yep.
  • TED talks? Yep.
  • Books? Yep.
  • Best seller? Yep.
  • Income climbing? Yep.
  • Columnist for America Out Loud? Yep

Etc, etc, etc.

Being a billionaire doesn’t actually float my boat – it’s not something I’m focused on.

Building my brand to global levels, so I can help, inspire, motivate and encourage more people, whilst being richly rewarded in the process, that’s where it’s at for me.

Success, for me, is being able to do what I want, when I want, where I choose and with the people I want to be with. Abundance isn’t just about money – love, health and happiness come way, way, way above the dollars in my landscape, so that’s where I’ve put my focus.

BUT… (and this is a really important part)

Not having your focus on cash piling does not mean you cannot become wealthy!

Financial security HAS to be one of your pillars, or the whole damn construction you’ve so carefully created will fall over. You can’t balance properly if you’re healthy, loved and broke! You can’t help as many people if you don’t have two cents to rub together either.

Newsflash: This isn’t the part where you shrug, gesture at your empty pockets and give up. This is the part where you decide to change that scenario and create a future with more in it for you and your family. Or you and your FUTURE family. Or just YOU. Doesn’t matter, so long as you move from low level quitting to high level hitting.

Part of MY plan is to build my brand, grow my credibility as a coach, speaker, author and trainer, help as many people as I can on the way up AND be very clear on the value I bring.

When we value ourselves properly it’s much more likely we’ll benefit from a strong enough mindset to charge our worth instead of becoming doormats. Capisce?

Enough about the mindset theory… here are some of my favourite tools for actually making things happen – including one maverick move that’s served me well, but must be handled with care!

𝟭) 𝗕𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗺𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 (𝗣𝗠𝗙)

Your PMF might be as big as your why, or a temporary need, want or desire that demands to be met.

It could be upgrading your car, paying a bill, completing your mortgage or taking the kids to Disneyland.

It might be building a school in Africa, getting a technique to combat depression to 10,000 people, leading a million women to a state of greater confidence and body positivity, working to save the rain forest or rehabilitating orphaned gorillas.

It could be anything – but it *has* to be something that motivates you, gets you out of bed and drives you to make things happen.

Your PMF could be a lifetime intention or a short-term goal. You may have many in your lifetime, but you must focus on only ONE at a time, and it must be measurable and actionable.

𝟮) 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴

Knowing what I want to achieve (my PMF), then ascertaining the steps necessary, working backwards from my desired outcome.

This is so much easier than starting from where you are now with no real destination to head towards.

You need to be able to set your inner sat nav, see your destination and work backwards from there to work out what’s needed for you to own it and smash it.

𝟯) 𝗗𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆

This is more of a maverick move, it’s not for *all* skills or for everyone!

While some like to learn slowly and gradually inch towards their goal, when there’s something I want to achieve quickly (within reason), I find the biggest challenge accessible and go for it. Something that means I need to step up to the plate and be accountable.

For instance, years ago, when I decided I wanted to start crafting high-quality collectible teddy bears (yes, really!), I found the biggest show I could, at a national exhibition centre, and applied to be an exhibitor.

I’d never even tried my hand at making a bear before – in fact, the first one I ever made was to photograph to send in as part of the application process. It was good enough to be accepted, and I then had four months to create about 40 fully-jointed, traditional mohair bears to exhibit at one of the UK’s most prestigious shows.

Those bears ended up being shipped all over the world and being featured in collector magazines. Yep. They actually exist! Hand crafting collectible teddy bears was a side hustle of mine for a few years, and it served me well.

It was a similar story when I wanted to become a motivational business speaker. I found the biggest show I could, met with the organisers and convinced them I was the right keynoter for the job. They had no idea that was my first gig of that kind and I had one shot to make good on my promises.

Not only did I smash that gig, but they had to fetch extra seating for everyone wanting to come in and watch, I secured media coverage off the back of it AND further gigs.

See? Deep End Mastery. Lock your targets onto something you want to achieve and throw yourself right in at the deep end.

I promise you, when it’s your reputation and fear of failure, or looking stupid, on the line, you will pull out all the stops to make it happen!

Needless to say, this works best with softer skills, rather than skills that take a high level of technical expertise! You wouldn’t want to try Deep End Mastery with brain surgery or rocket science, for instance, but where it’s a skill you can hone swiftly with enough focus, go for it!

Challenge yourself… just be sensible in your choice of challenge!

That’s it. They’re my top three. It’s up to you now.

Are you ready to really level up, or are you happy to stay on that sofa?

Until next time,
