Most conservatives know that our mainstream media is grossly dishonest, but I don’t think many people understand just how bad things are. Our media is not just left-leaning. It’s controlled by a hostile, foreign power.

We are at war.

I want to be very clear that though I am going into a full broadside against the Chinese Communist Party, I am in no way attacking or condemning the Chinese people. Mao Zedong killed at least 20 million of his own people, and the primary victims of the Chinese regime are the Chinese people themselves. I am writing this article in solidarity with the Chinese people, most of whom I believe would stand against the Chinese Communist Party, were they able to do so. If you get angry reading this, get angry at the party, and not the people.

Understand that the ‘product’ media houses produce is not media. Media houses do produce media, but the product they sell is not generally the media itself, so much as the audience that gathers to watch that media. A media house’s revenues come primarily through advertising dollars – in other words, by selling access to an audience. The larger the audience, the more revenue a media house can earn.

China has about 1.4 billion people. We have about 330 million people. That makes China about four times as big of a media market as is the United States. Time Warner is losing its shirt on CNN, but at the same time, Time Warner has entered into a partnership with China Media Capital (which is a fully-owned subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party), in the words of a joint statement by both companies, “capitalize on China’s rapidly expanding media sector as digital devices proliferate, and China’s demand for high-quality content across multiple platforms rises.”

Time Warner has agreed to submit all of its media – including media produced for the American market – to censorship from the Chinese Communist Party in return for access to the Chinese media market. Time Warner believes it will make far more money in China than in the United States, and was very happy to sell out the American people.

I’m picking on Time Warner, but all of our major media houses have similar agreements.

We would never allow our own government to censor our media outlets, and yet we allow a foreign, hostile power to do so. Nobody even seems to care, or more to the point, if people do care, there is nowhere to go with that caring – the media simply will not talk about it.

We saw similar Chinese influence over the NBA when Daryl Morey, who was the General Manager of the Houston Rockets, tweeted ‘Stand With Hong Kong’ in 2019.

The NBA had just inked a deal with the Chinese Communist Party, in which the NBA got access to the Chinese media market (including being able to play games in China), and in return, the NBA agreed to censor its personnel, including players, coaches, and anyone else employed by the league, or by any NBA affiliated teams, on the CCP’s behalf. Daryl Morey’s tweet was in breach of that contract.

The NBA signed away the free speech rights of everyone working in the NBA for access to the Chinese media market.

That is not to say that members of the NBA do not have free speech rights. They do. What the NBA has done is to make adherence to Chinese censorship a condition of employment.

Ask Lebron James to criticize China. He won’t do it, or more to the point, he can’t do it. LeBron James has no marketable skills outside of basketball, and nothing to fall back on should he decide that speaking out against China is worth losing his job over.

Speaking out against the United States, on the other hand, is profitable. Colin Kaepernick was statistically the worst quarterback in the NFL when he began kneeling for the National Anthem, and had recently been downgraded to a third-string quarterback. With his football career tanking, Kaepernick took a knee, and then inked a $100 million contract with Nike – a company that, unsurprisingly, uses what amounts to slave labor in China.

How ‘woke’ of him…

Nike also sells almost $7 billion worth of shoes and apparel in China. Every year.

Many on the political right are okay with Chinese censorship, as it is voluntary, and stopping it would require some kind of government action. It’s absolutely startling how many so-called ‘libertarians’ are willing to live under a communist yoke if the only way to avoid doing so is for government to prevent it.

There is an old saying that if you want to know who controls you, ask who it is that you cannot criticize.

The standard practice in naming viruses has always been to name them after the place where they originate, at least until a virus originated from a lab in Wuhan, China. At that point, our media told us that naming a virus after its place of origin was racist. We still name all of the variants of that virus after the place of origin (and name other new viruses that do not originate in China after their place of origin). You can have a Brazilian Variant, but not a China (or Wuhan) Flu. Why is that?

It is because we cannot criticize those who control us; we cannot criticize the Chinese Communist Party.

Critical Race Theory, Black Lives Matter, and other such ventures operate with the full support of the Chinese Communist Party, which uses such things to sow discord within our country. The CCP loves seeing riots across America, and China now openly berates our diplomats over our supposedly egregious civil rights record, using American media sources to press their point.

China doesn’t even need to make anti-American propaganda anymore. They use ours.

The notion that America is a racist nation is absurd. None of the data supports this contention, and what gets called ‘scholarly research’ in the humanities (from which CRT emerged – China pays a lot of money to fund such ‘research’) is nothing more than an anti-American opinion that other people in the same fields (often also doing ‘research’ supported by China) agree with. The more absurd of a thing some professor writes, the more ‘courageous’ they are called by their peers. And then we see these ‘courageous’ professors championed on CNN for their brilliant ‘wokeness.’

Understand that CRT is a religion. The term ‘woke’ implies an understanding that is hidden to those who are not ‘woke,’ and this sense of suddenly seeing things others do not – that is straight-up Gnosticism. From there, we have what the supposedly ‘woke’ can see, which is the most nihilistic vision the world has ever known, of a balkanized world filled with tribalism and hatred, that will rip itself to shreds without totalitarian control. People fall for this only because of peer pressure. On some level, even the most devout adherents must know that it is all a steaming pile of crap.

And yet CRT is everywhere. China makes damned sure of that.

Even Coca-Cola is now a mouthpiece for the Chinese Communist Party – and of course, they are: China consumes a lot of Coca-Cola! Coca-Cola’s sales elsewhere are dropping, but Chinese sales are exploding and Coke can’t afford to lose that market. Coke went woke so as not to go broke.

The CCP and our Democratic Party have some natural overlap in terms of a dislike, and/or at least distrust, of free markets.

Understand that free markets put whomever satisfies public demand at the top of the social pecking order. In this way, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos got rich.

The left believes that the top of the social pecking order should consist of a ‘moral and intellectual elite’ of professors and other members of the intelligentsia. The intelligentsia tends to look down on business people, and the intelligentsia seeks to control the markets, as doing so would allow them to elevate themselves above the business world.

In the language of CRT, the intelligentsia seeks to become our totalitarian overlords.

Ask yourself this… Were climate alarmism truly justified, would the same China that controls our media, and that tells us the world will end in twelve years unless we flush our economy down the toilet, also be building at least one coal-fired power plant every week? China now accounts for more CO2 emissions than does the entire developed world combined, and while the United States has exceeded the CO2 reductions the Paris Climate Accord asked of us (in spite of not signing), we did so by moving plants from coal to natural gas – a technology we are now going to spend trillions of dollars every year moving away from.

Nuclear power too is banned by the Green New Deal. Does it make sense to pledge to radically reduce CO2 emissions while simultaneously eliminating the only technologies capable of doing that? It only makes sense if your goal is to destroy your country, rather than to save the planet. It certainly makes sense to the Chinese Communist Party for us to do that.

We are at war. Or at least China is at war. More and more, America seems to be on China’s side.

Another dirty little secret is that free markets are consumer-centric rather than business-centric. Meeting consumer demand is a very dog-eat-dog world, making the business environment fickle and unforgiving. Established players can protect themselves from potential upstarts by lobbying for ‘regulations’ designed to protect them from the competition. In this way, a natural alliance emerges between the intelligentsia (who seek to control the markets) and big businesses (who seek to be protected from market forces).

China exploits these natural alliances by allowing businesses to profit off business dealings in China, but by making businesses share technology and other forms of intellectual property with the Chinese Communist Party.

I can remember in the 1990s, as golf club manufacturers began moving their production to China, suddenly off-brand clones of major golf clubs became widely available that looked and behaved exactly the same as the brands they were clones of. It turned out that it was illegal for American companies to own businesses in China, and as such, rather than owning factories to build golf clubs in, American businesses were contracting with Chinese companies (fully owned subsidiaries of the CCP) to build clubs for them. Those Chinese companies would then build knock-off clubs that were identical in all but name to the major brands. Instead of King Cobra, you might get King Viper for a fraction of the price – it was the exact same thing.

Since then, China has done the same thing with car companies, aerospace companies, defense contractors – you name it, and China has stolen it.

China believes in three forms of warfare: informational, economic, and kinetic (aka ‘guns blazing’). China determined that the United States would win a kinetic war, so while they saw war with the United States as necessary, they decided to use information warfare, and economic warfare, avoiding a kinetic war until China was in a position to win.

The fact that China controls our media houses – trading access to the Chinese media market for control over the media we see – should come as no surprise. China views information as a weapon of war, and China is using this control to defeat us.

The United States, in the meantime, does nothing to defend us from what can only be called a ‘Clear and Present Danger to the United States.’

Trump did do something. Trump took a very aggressive trade stance with China, demanding that China respect intellectual property rights, and took other actions to level the playing field. What Trump did not go after was China’s control over our media, and as such, China spent four years taking broadside after broadside against Trump, using our media as their attack dog.

As Sun Tzu put it, “Control your enemy, and you control the war.”

I am not going to suggest that the CCP released Covid-19 intentionally, in an election year, to ensure that Trump lost the election, but I will say that China shut down travel between Wuhan and the rest of China, while leaving travel between Wuhan and the rest of the world open. That was a smoking gun – China wanted Covid-19 to infect the world, and I’m absolutely positive the CCP knew it was an election year in the middle of trade negotiations they were losing. Now, millions of people around the world are dead, and the trade war is over.

China believes World War Three will be biological in nature, and is working on Covid-based (and in some cases SARS-based) diseases that target specific ethnicities. I said earlier that I was going to stop short of calling Covid-19 a biological attack. I can show that it was developed in a lab, but I cannot show it was released intentionally. Note, though, that I’m also stopping short of saying it was not released intentionally. Whatever the case, China did everything it could to get it to spread outside China, and that was an act of war.

China committed an act of war with a weapon of mass destruction, and our media says nothing.

How is China going to win a kinetic war? That’s the wrong question. Ask instead what part of the United States Constitution a ‘woke’ military is going to defend. The next major war will be fought by the United States military against the American people, and will look like the Spanish Inquisition. China is smart – they will have us defeat ourselves in a kinetic war.

China fully considers itself at war with the United States. The question is not one of whether or not we are at war because we are. Of that, there is no doubt.

What America can’t seem to decide is which side of this war we are on.

Very enlightening. Very important. The future is not rosey. Unless and until we make changes.
