Part of the work I do as an engineer, is to help companies and financial institutions prepare their physical structure, their work programs, physical processes, and equipment… to minimize the impact of pandemics.
For example in 2009 – 2010, as the H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic was picking up speed, I provided training seminars to financial institutions. How to reduce risks with new non-medical steps, in addition to the medical steps they were taking.
Anyone who took the seminar would not be worrying about toilet paper. One extra pack is enough, and learn what to do if you can’t get any…
A lot of that information given to companies is relevant to families as well. And it’s found in a new book ranked by the readers as the number one book on the subject when it was published a few weeks ago. CHINA PANDEMIC VIRUS: SIMPLE NON-MEDICAL STEPS FOR FAMILIES AND COUNTRIES TO DEFEAT IT.
ABOUT TOILET PAPER, DID YOUR DOCTOR PRESCRIBE HYSTERIA?
In medical matters, always and particularly in a pandemic, follow the advice of your doctor and government health agencies. Did any of them tell you to become hysterical about toilet paper, or gel sanitizer for that matter?
In a pandemic populations suffers in two very different ways. One is related to the disease itself, which can be horrific and have many side effects.
The other area of suffering has to do with the partial collapse of the society and economy.

In the worst case, crimes such as robbery, looting, riots and so on increase and become rampant. It occurs across all economic, race, creed, and color lines. And that small percentage can wreak a lot of damage.

Unfortunately, the first steps along this path, is an idea: getting something needed, weather the storm, and to heck with anyone that gets in the way.
“Paid looting” means that customers pay for what they take, but they try to empty the store of toilet paper as best as they can. In some instances violence has occurred over a pack of toilet paper. Theft of toilet paper from public restrooms has been captured on video.
Focus is in these events on the toilet paper, and other things such as respect of other people, go out the window.
This is the reason why the calm, on point communications of the president have been very important.
LISTEN TO THE PRESIDENT, HE’S RIGHT ABOUT THE NEED FOR CALM
The disease COVID-19 is bad enough. We don’t want the society to break down into disorder and violence. The only way to make it through with optimal results, is by remaining CALM as a nation and as individuals.
The present shortage of toilet paper isn’t because of manufacturing or transportation problems related to the pandemic. It’s because of the huge demand, way beyond possible use, that empties the shelves.
WHAT IF THE SUPPLY OF TOILET PAPER REALLY BREAKS DOWN?
DUE TO TRANSPORTATION OR MANUFACTURING DIFFICULTIES DURING THE PANDEMIC?
Disruptions, some of them very unpleasant, always occur during pandemics.
If the supply of toilet paper breaks down, due to manufacturing / transportation  disruption… then what?
It’s unlikely this will happen, due to the excellent commercial and industrial and worker income programs President Trump has instituted during this pandemic. His Declaration of a National Emergency, is right on spot.
But in certain areas, here and there, and for a limited amount of time, there may be no toilet paper.
Strangely enough, if there is no toilet paper due to pandemic disruption, it’s almost certain the food supply will experience disruptions at the same time.

WHEN THERE’S NO TOILET PAPER, THERE’S PROBABLY NO FOOD EITHER.
And when there’s no food, we won’t need toilet paper.
PROGRAMS OF THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION ARE FOCUSED ON AVOIDING THE MOST DIFFICULT ASPECTS OF A PANDEMIC AND ARE EXPERT IN DOING SO
That is why the president is taking strong steps under a Declaration of National Emergency. The best thing we can do about toilet paper is to chill out.
Listen to your doctor and to national and state and local health authorities. And in order to relax, get a few extra packs of toilet paper and let it go at that.
Just keep in mind that the country has an amazing and strong program from the Trump administration, which is organizing things for the best outcome. So let’s chill out, things will last longer in shops and be available if we self-regulate and work as one people for the good of the entire country..
The Book is now available on Amazon and the America Out Loud bookstore: CHINA PANDEMIC VIRUS: SIMPLE NON-MEDICAL STEPS FOR FAMILIES AND COUNTRIES TO DEFEAT IT

Dr Joel S Holmes (engineer) assists US companies protect their technologies, and provides training seminars in non-medical risk reduction steps to help achieve the optimal outcome during the difficult times of a pandemic.
