Winston Churchill was direct in his denunciation of Marxism: “The inherent vice of Capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.” He pointed out that “Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy.”

Socialism, however, doesn’t really share its inherent miseries with everyone. Those at the top, the Hitlers, Stalins, Maos, Pol Pots and Castros, and now the Bidens thrive off the misery of others as the recent Biden family scandal is proving.

The Democrats want to decide what you drive, what you eat, and what your children read; they also want to provide sacred status to illegal aliens while undermining law enforcement officers, border guards, and ICE agents. They also want to disarm you, to assure little resistance to their sick philosophy. They also want to rewrite your history by tearing down the symbols of your past.

It began with Karl Marx, whose manifesto was every bit as deranged as the Unabombers. The only difference between the two lunatics is that Marx didn’t personally kill anyone. Instead, his disciples in the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, China, Cambodia, Cuba, and Venezuela, took care of that end of the business, murdering hundreds of millions along the way.

Socialists talk a good deal about all the free stuff they’re prepared to give to the masses, which is why poor people so often fall for it. That, after all, is the reason that our young people, brainwashed by the Liberals who control our schools, our media, and our pop culture, are now declaring themselves Socialists and supporting the likes of Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and now their surprise leader, Sleepy Joe Biden.

Socialism already exists

Many Americans do not realize this nation already has a form of Socialism reflected in Social Security, Medicare, and welfare. It was FDR who introduced Socialism in a big way. Obama tried to force even more of it on us with the Obamacare Affordable Care Act. When considering what Socialism has done to Venezuela and Cuba, how is it that so many Americans are unable to grasp the fact that Socialism makes no sense!

It is impossible for a government to provide free everything for everybody. Its sole source of money is the over-taxation of the productive-class for the sake of underachievers.

In addition, it inevitably leads to the loss of liberty and to tyrants like Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, Chavez, and Maduro, assuming control of their lives. Ben Franklin said it best, “Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Young people don’t trust our government, and with good reason, but they are prepared to trust these left-wing Pied Pipers to run things wisely and benevolently. The Democrats are openly advertising that they plan to destroy life as we know it. That can be the only result of their determination to end our nation’s dependence on fossil fuels. The movement to renewable energy, in order to end the existential threat of climate change, has been a major part of their election strategy.

Such draconian action can only be brought about by a socialist government that ends capitalism’s opportunity for individuals to do what they think will benefit society. Which in this case are the further development and use of our vast inexpensive, prolific, oil, and natural gas resources. If you have a budding socialist youth in your midst it is past time to explain the destruction that a winning socialist candidate will wreak upon our nation by the elimination of fossil fuels. Undependable, expensive wind, and solar farms as the future power for our nation will send us all back to life as our ancestors knew it in the middle of the 19th century.

Late last year Saudi Arabia’s oil production was struck by missiles thought to have come from Iran. Many worried about the potential increase in the price of gasoline at the pump. Just wait for what will result when the Dems try and replace our gas pumps with only wind turbines and solar farms. Of course, this can not be done but on the way to its failure, we will pay a great price. Energy prices have already increased everywhere wind and solar have been put on our electric grid.

What college students and too many of their parents and even grandparents don’t seem to understand is that the government, any government, doesn’t make money, except in the sense that they own the printing presses. But of course, the more money a government prints, the less it’s worth, which is why our dollar has declined in value for a very long time.

The only real money the government has is the money it takes from its productive citizens in order to redistribute it, often among the unproductive. They commonly use it as bribes to get votes to stay in power.

Taxes are a necessary evil, and we can argue about how our money is spent, but at least we can argue about it. We can even vote the thieves out. These are two liberties denied to those condemned to live in Socialist nations.

There is something, however, that can be defined as the voluntary redistribution of money. We refer to it as a charity. When money is seized from one group of people and handed over to another group, that isn’t charity⏤it’s extortion.

Bernie Sanders, who has railed against the rich ever since he crawled out of his crib as a red diaper baby 70-odd years ago, is a millionaire. We don’t begrudge him. We are however incredulous that he allegedly made his fortune off book sales. But, we don’t think he has any business demeaning other rich people who choose to hang on to their own honestly-accumulated wealth.

In Capitalism, the customer is always right; in Socialist societies, he’s always wrong. It’s the government that’s always right. And, as you may have noticed, the government, any government, every government, always has plenty of guns at its disposal.

Another built-in flaw with Socialism is that it tries to subvert human nature. No matter how much liars pretend that their ideal is equality—intentionally ignoring the basic differences in strength, intelligence, interests, and ability that exist between individuals—the truth is that people are born to compete.

In prehistoric times, cavemen competed for cavewomen, being closest to the fire and the choicest parts of the T-Rex’s carcass; today, they compete when it comes to sports, careers, sex, even for blue ribbons at flower shows.

It is hard-wired into the human race to compete and to excel.
