Is Jesus, Lord and Savior?

The very thought of Him upsets political agendas and corporate heads. The mention of His name in prayer has created great opposition in sports arenas. How dare you pray to Jesus! Who is He that you should speak about Him in public?

Shhh! Don’t mention Him! Don’t say that name! This name Jesus disrupts the political, religious and social systems. His name tends to stir up emotions unlike any other name ever known to mankind. To refer to Jesus in a conversation seems to offend the educated and intellectuals. What is it about this man that is hated, feared, revered and respected all in the same society?

The ancients speak of Him as the one true Son of God. However, there are those who believe Him to be just a mere prophet. Some even say He was never crucified and His death burial and resurrection are but a myth. Yet, He continues to be the topic of debates around the world and His legacy and presence on earth is indisputable by science and theorist alike.

His name has caused a great divide between the Believers and the Unbelievers.

The Believers understand the operation of faith and how to use it to empower not only their lives, but the lives of those around them. Unbelievers are people who deny Him and fail to see how a God we cannot see sent a Jesus we can experience. Through His Birth, Crucifixion and Resurrection by Faith we accept Him and for Millions around the world; this is enough.

The line of demarcation is drawn, and positions are held in sacred song as we hail Him above all others. This is what separates the Believers from the Unbelievers: The Believers have no doubt of His Healing and Miracle working power. The Unbelievers doubt Him, doubt His presence, doubt the Faith, doubt Eternal Life.

Is it true that this Jesus is still alive? Is there real evidence of His presence today?

Are we seeing His presence when Believers (Christians) spew venom across social media and real-world media toward those who are unlike them? Jesus came to show us the Love of God and yet we see very little of that around the Christian world. This very Jesus said in the Holy Scriptures “how can you love God whom you have not seen and hate your brother that you do see?”

Is this the core of the confusion where we hear God is Love; then we see demonstrations of prejudices against the LGBTQ Community or other groups that do not fit our “Jesus” model? This name creates ongoing confusion in the heart and minds of those who have either never known or have abandoned His teachings.

The Daily News is filled with Religious propaganda of Christians fighting for religious freedom while judging those who are “different.” Is this the heart of Jesus? Does His mercy start and stop at the Church door?

The Unbelievers protest the Nativity Scene, Prayer in Schools and the public display of faith. Yet, cursing and vulgarity seems to be acceptable in mainstream society with no one protesting to keep “cursing and vulgarity” out of school. No cross on public property still be find it difficult to keep guns off the streets.

Who can make this case stand?

Still, the evidence for Jesus outweighs the evidence against Him. There is no one I can think of to present the case for Jesus than Rev. Dr.  Shadrach Meshach Lockridge, former pastor of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in San Diego, California a prominent African-American congregation in San Diego, California, from 1953 to 1993. He was known for his preaching across the United States and around the world whose message “That’s My King” reverberates through-out time and eternity.

Dr. Lockridge passed away, but as you read these words you like millions of others will understand why he left us a legacy of Jesus that will never die! I will include the words to that message here; however, you can hear Dr. Lockridge voice speaking this powerful introduction and demonstration of the Name, Power and Life of My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ:

That’s My King

The Bible says
He’s the King of the Jews
He’s the King of Israel
He’s the King of Righteousness
He’s the King of the Ages
He’s the King of Heaven
He’s the King of Glory
He’s the King of Kings
and He is the Lord of Lords

Now that’s my King!
David says
The Heavens declare the glory of God
And the firmament sheweth His handiwork
No means of measure can define His limitless love
No far seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of His shoreless supply
No barriers can hinder Him from pouring out His blessing

He’s enduringly strong
He’s entirely sincere
He’s eternally steadfast
He’s immortally graceful
He’s imperially powerful
He’s impartially merciful

That’s my King!
He’s God’s Son
He’s the sinners’ Savior
He’s the centerpiece of civilization
He stands alone in Himself
He’s august
He’s unique
He’s unparalleled
He’s unprecedented
He’s supreme
He’s pre-eminent
He’s the loftiest idea in literature
He’s the highest personality in philosophy
He’s the supreme problem in higher criticism
He’s the fundamental doctrine in true theology
He’s the cardinal necessity of spiritual religion

That’s my King!
He’s the miracle of the age
He’s the superlative of everything good that you choose to call Him
He’s the only one able to supply all of our needs simultaneously
He supplies strength for the weak
He’s available for the tempted and the tried
He sympathizes and He saves
He guards and He guides
He heals the sick
He cleansed the lepers
He forgives sinners
He discharges debtors
He delivers the captives
He defends the feeble
He blesses the young
He serves the unfortunate
He regards the aged
He rewards the diligent
And He beautifies the meek

Do you know Him?
My King is the key of knowledge
He’s the wellspring of wisdom
He’s the doorway of deliverance
He’s the pathway of peace
He’s the roadway of righteousness
He’s the highway of holiness
He’s the gateway of glory
He’s the master of the mighty
He’s the captain of the conquerors
He’s the head of the heroes
He’s the leader of the legislators
He’s the overseer of the overcomers
He’s the governor of governors
He’s the prince of princes
He’s the King of Kings
And He’s the Lord of Lords

That’s my King
That’s my King!
My King
His office is manifold
His promise is sure
His life is matchless
His goodness is limitless
His mercy is everlasting
His love never changes
His word is enough
His grace is sufficient
His reign is righteous
His yoke is easy
and His burden is light
I wish I could describe Him to you
He’s indescribable
He’s indescribable
He’s incomprehensible
He’s invincible
He’s irresistible
I’m trying to tell you
The heaven of heavens cannot contain Him
Let alone a man explain Him
You can’t get Him out of your mind
You can’t get Him off of your hands
You can’t outlive Him
And you can’t live without Him
The Pharisees couldn’t stand Him
but they found out they couldn’t stop Him
Pilate couldn’t find any fault in Him
The witnesses couldn’t get their testimonies to agree
And Herod couldn’t kill Him
Death couldn’t handle Him
And the grave couldn’t hold Him

That’s my King!
He always has been
And He always will be
I’m talking about
He had no predecessor
and He’ll have no successor
There was nobody before Him
and there’ll be nobody after Him
You can’t impeach Him
and He’s not going to resign

That’s my King!
Praise the Lord
That’s my King
Thine is the Kingdom
And the power
And the glory
The glory is all His
Thine is the Kingdom
And the power
And the glory
For ever
And ever
And ever
And when you get through with all of the forevers

No matter who you are or what you worship; you will now or one day for sure come to know that Jesus is the true and living Son of God and He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords for all eternity.
