I would rather see prevention from pregnancy than what I refer to as a horrid procedure of butchery by abortion. And as to my own belief, human life begins at conception. I’m going to avoid my religious perspective throughout the rest of this piece, so as not to cause one to think due to my Christianity I am being biased. Instead I will impart my personal logical reasoning to avoid abortion and contracting sexually transmitted diseases while preventing a life of misery in many respects.
You just made it to your teens and you begin to notice the opposite sex more and more, while a low fire begins to build in your body. As you grow even older the fire becomes more intense and ever present, burning brightly in your loins until you either do something about it or resist it entirely.
Last Friday was the 45th anniversary of the “March For Life”. Since the Supreme Court case of Roe Vs Wade over 60 million abortions have taken place in America.
The massive numbers of abortions in America are no doubt staggering and costly in more ways than one. It is very telling about our current population’s mindset on what constitutes life and what constitutes death when it comes to a pregnancy.
There are a myriad of reasons why females abort what is obviously growing inside them. In some pregnancy cases the female finds it is cumbersome for them to face the possibility of having a child but wishes not to raise a child or terminate the pregnancy, so at birth they sign the child over for adoption and wash their hands of the entire affair and move on with their lives. In other cases of an unwanted pregnancy the female decides to just abort it as soon as they decide to do it.
What is astounding to me is why females choose not to protect themselves from a pregnancy when they are fully against it happening to them in the first place, with the various contraceptives available to them. Instead many go through a horrid bloody procedure of having a doctor use various instruments to extract and or even cut out in pieces what is growing inside them.
One preventive mechanism is what we call the “pill” and in many cases provided free of charge to the female that is of an age whereby she can become pregnant. If a female doesn’t want to go through such an affair of an abortion in the first place it is a far better thing to protect against getting pregnant in the first place.
When it comes to males why not wear a condom, do they really want to pay for a child or even twins every month until they are 18 years of age? If they think they can safely walk away without paying monetary support, law enforcement will eventually catch up to them. Males and females daily contract some form of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) that they may carry for the rest of their lives or even kill them.
Imagine carrying around a permanent STD as males and females grow older and find that perfect woman or man that they fall in love with only to realize, how do I tell them about my STD, will they still want me? Why not avoid such a situation from happening in the first place through prevention, in fact abstain from sex outright until you find your life mate.
When one looks at the sheer number of abortions in America it is astounding that so many don’t bother with protecting themselves from greatly reducing the possibility of getting pregnant in the first place when it is so simple to prevent.
Maybe, when a female reaches the age of puberty the mother should place her on some form of contraception as well as the dangers of unprotected sex to protect the child from the possibility of becoming pregnant or contracting an STD. And teach young males about the perils of unprotected sex and diseases they also can contract.
From the numbers of abortions that have been tracked over the decades it appears that many parents are still failing to educate their children about the dangers of sex and the lifelong consequences that can come with it.
There is an old saying, and it is as true today as it has been from decades past — “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”
