Journey through Covid with a US Senator and Frontline Physician

A fascinating first-person story on the journey through Covid, through the eyes of a citizen legislator and a frontline physician actively treating Covid patients early to keep them out of the hospital. Senator Ron Johnson, along with DrLee4America, MD, connect the dots from the early days of the pandemic and lockdown, raising many questions along the way. What lessons were learned? What insights were gained about ways to avoid the massive “collateral” damage of lockdowns and failure to treat people early at home when the illness was less severe?

Senator Ron Johnson, currently the senior Senator from Wisconsin. Senator Johnson’s business and accounting experience as an entrepreneur starting PACUR, a company producing plastic sheets for packaging and printing applications, has served our country well with the experience and insight he brought into the political arena in Congress. He was elected to the US Senate in 2010 when he defeated Democratic incumbent Russ Feingold, and reelected in 2016, again defeating Feingold.

Ron Johnson came to Washington because the federal government is bankrupting America. He thinks it is important for citizen legislators to ally with those who are seriously facing that reality. Ron’s manufacturing background has taught him to attack the root cause of a problem, not mere symptoms. He believes huge deficits, slow economic activity, high unemployment, and woefully inadequate job creation are severe symptoms of the problem – but not the root cause. The ever-expanding size, scope, and cost of government are the problem.

Senator Johnson served as the Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee from 2015-2021 and is now the ranking member for the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. He also serves on the Budget, Foreign Relations, and Commerce, Science, and Transportation committees. From operating the equipment to keeping the company books, and selling its products, Ron has been involved in every function of the business. It is this body of experience and private sector perspective that he now brings to the Senate. Ron’s parents were raised on farms. Their work ethic and small-town values were naturally passed along to their own children. As a result, Ron has worked hard all his life. As a boy, he mowed lawns, shoveled snow, delivered papers, and caddied for a few extra bucks. At the age of 15, he obtained his first tax-paying job as a dishwasher in a Walgreens grill. He rose through the ranks as a soda jerk, fry cook, and finally night manager before reaching the age of 16. He gained early acceptance to the University of Minnesota, skipped his senior year of High School, and worked full time while obtaining his degree in business and accounting.

Brush Fires of Freedom for the Soul of America

Fighting between republican and democrat, rich and poor, black and white, families and friends, are all indicators that the fight is actually between good and evil. Something sinister is happening all across this land. The taunting of President Trump in a new commercial put out by the Lincoln Project is raising eyebrows. The Lincoln Project is taunting former President Trump in a new attack ad, saying the former president got “played” by…

Exercising Your Rights Properly

Exercising Your Rights Properly

When many people talk about rights, I’m reminded of a quote by Inigo Montoya in the movie The Princess Bride. “You keep using that word. I don’t think it means what you think it means.” I wrote a class on defining a right and how to use it. In this episode, I’m...

Pretty Soon Cops Will Not Respond To Calls

When it’s all over, John Cox explains, minorities left in the communities suffer, for they are left behind to rebuild their destroyed communities. While the Captain said racism does exist, it isn’t at the level it had been before the Civil Rights. The push to defund the police, he said, is being pushed by the same agitators who don’t care anything about police reform…
