If you believe you will lose, you are lost.
If you believe your problems are caused by external issues, you won’t be able to solve them.
If you blame your emotional state on others who ‘done you wrong’, you won’t be able to change it.
Whatever’s going on in your life, you can only really change things by taking responsibility for it. It *is* your life, after all.
This is, perhaps, one of the most important life lessons… and it’s the one people are most reluctant to take on board. If we stop blaming external factors for our place in the world, that means our situation is our fault, doesn’t it?
Well, sort of.
I mean, you’re not single handedly responsible for the global pandemic, national debt or third world hunger, but the way in which you REACT to all these situations is on you, for sure.
You are where you are now as a direct result of the choices you have made up to now. Assuming you’re a grown up, it’s not because of your parents, your upbringing, your religious beliefs, or that thing that happened to you when you were 11.
It’s because of YOU.
And the amazing thing about that, once we get beyond all the victim mindset reluctance to take responsibility for our lives, is that ownership of our shit allows us to create change. It’s not about blame or finger pointing, it’s about realising that you can only really create the life you desire by owning everything in it and taking determined action to create the future you want.
Sometimes life is horribly unfair. It’s still your life.
Some days you’re the pigeon. Some days you’re the statue. It’s still your life.
Own it! Even when life feels crappy. Find the teachings in the tough times, learn from them and move on. The only person who can make you a victim is YOU! It’s a label. You don’t have to wear it.
In fact, dump all the labels you’ve been given and remember who you are underneath.
You’re awesome. You’re beautiful. You have shedloads of as yet untapped potential. You have power you never even dreamed of. That’s yours. Stop giving it away by giving others the power to shape your feelings. Take back your self worth. It’s there within you somewhere. You just need to find it!
Go on. Shake up your beliefs. Shake out all those old habits and ideas that keep you small and struggling. If you were born ‘poor’, you don’t need to stay in that space. If you were raised to believe you weren’t good enough, you don’t need to own that lie.
Get it? Apply that to any limiting belief. – you don’t need to carry them forever more. Hell, they might not even be your beliefs – you’re probably carrying someone else’s mindset crap!
Let. It. Go.
You can be more. You ARE more!
Dare to dream. Dare to own your life. Dare to believe something else is possible. And then… set out to create it!
Until next time,
