On 9/11, we faced the total destruction of our society by radical Islamic forces, and we rushed to the finish line of a race that is far from over. Now we are increasing our danger by morphing our anti-terrorism efforts into political correctness that is leading us into new danger – a sharp turn from personal liberty in a free democratic republic to the onslaught of socialist propaganda that will, if left unchecked, destroy the country we love.
America’s engagement in the global war against terrorism, triggered by the attacks on 9/11, was officially initiated by President George W Bush on September 12, 2001. And it brought the U.S. to the most dangerous crossroad in our history. We faced the total destruction of our society by radical Islamic forces, and we rushed to the finish line of a race that is far from over.
Now we are increasing our danger by morphing our anti-terrorism efforts into political correctness that is leading us into new danger – a sharp turn from personal liberty in a free democratic republic to the onslaught of socialist propaganda that will, if left unchecked, destroy the country we love.
The long list of unintended consequences, brought about by a stunning lack of leadership from a succession of administrations in Washington, has led us to a moment in our history where the fork in the road is crystal clear: either we stay the course with a roadmap built on personal liberty and economic freedom, or we follow the crowd pulling us to the left towards a dark socialist future.
The dangers with socialism lie in the deceiving simplicity of its propaganda. It is promoted in the glowing terms framed by the politicians, the pundits, and the idiots who somehow think that history doesn’t repeat itself when we keep making the same mistakes. They use terms that spell “free stuff” and “you are entitled to…” [name it and you are entitled to it – according to the propagandists] – and they say “health care, a living wage, a college education, etc. are not privileges they are a human right, etc. [but not a word is said about actually having to earn it].
And the flow of humanity illegally across our borders threatens the core of law and order, as our own Congress threatens to undermine the President’s initiatives to protect our sovereignty.
We have raised several generations of “entitled” kids who are now the young adults who never learned history and are now embracing socialism, thinking that the socialist experiment really worked. But it didn’t work in the Soviet Union, it didn’t work in Cuba, it’s not working in Venezuela, and it isn’t working in the classrooms where it is being taught to our children by young teachers who also didn’t learn history.
We have built ourselves into a box, one which has defined our choices for us, which we are too sleepy or too lazy or too complacent to address. We are even too politically correct to define our enemy.
And who is that enemy? There are more than one; they include (but are not limited to): terrorism driven by radical Islamists who strive to destroy us; political correctness that prohibits us from criticizing anyone who is considered a minority or a victim, real or imagined; and the impoverished educational programs that are not teaching our children history, the literature of great minds, or science, but rather are teaching them reordered gender identification that defies nature, and – yes – socialism, which will tear the freedoms guaranteed to us by our Constitution to shreds.
The violence on the streets is getting worse every day, as the right to speak freely is commandeered by the left, but increasingly deprived to the right. And our Congress, whom we elected, is abandoning its responsibility and refusing to do its job, but rather gets muddled up in fruitless and seemingly endless in-fighting, while our country is falling into chaos.
And we on the right sit largely silent and let the strident voices of the left lead us down the path to self-destruction – with barely a whimper from our own midst.
This, my friends, is a recipe for national suicide. The remarkable infrastructure of our national mandate is being destroyed by our own inability or unwillingness to fight for it.
But there are still patriots among us – people who are not afraid to speak out – to stand up for the values on which this country was founded – and to fight for keeping them intact – embedded in the Constitution that we must protect at all cost. Because it is that Constitution that protects us against the threat of deconstruction and the ruinous designs of both socialism and radical Islam, both of which are determined to destroy us.
The President is doing his job. Now it’s time to do ours.
