America is living through a most transformational time where the day’s negative issues are having an impact on the whole of society. But what about those red, white, and blue Americans who are contributing to these landmark moments in the name of healing and love for thy fellow man?

One of these heroes, without capes, is patriot and actor Gary Sinise, best known as Lt. Dan Taylor in 1994 in the blockbuster film Forrest Gump.

For the past two decades, Sinise has played a supporting role not only in entertaining America’s troops but keeping their spirits lifted high through his support and attention to detail, traveling across the globe from coast to coast to speak and advocate for the voiceless. His latest crusade is to eradicate the high number of suicides and become an asset to promote healing through his Foundation Avalon Network. He is on a mission to create a unique and leading nationwide outreach program, integrated TBI and PTSD treatment network, benefiting our nation’s defenders and their families’ health and wellness.

Gary Sinise reminds us that since the terrorist attacks on our country took place in 2001, there have been three million men and women deployed to war zones. Nearly one out of every three are affected physically, mentally, or emotionally. They are carrying the physical and invisible scars of post-traumatic stress disorder. If that’s not enough, another 30% of America’s First Responders are also included in this arena, and many of them are also veterans.

Gary Sinise’s Foundation Avalon Network was created in 2019… “I am proud to announce the launch of the Gary Sinise Foundation Avalon Network. This cognitive health and mental wellness network will further expand our services to veterans and first responders experiencing post-traumatic stress, traumatic brain injuries, and substance abuse to help heal the invisible wounds afflicting too many of our nation’s heroes, transforming struggle into strength and lifelong posttraumatic growth.”

This growing epidemic needs a solution. There are too many of our nation’s warriors who know someone who has committed suicide or dealing with this emotional and psychological battle at some level. It’s a daily fight against the evils of depression, guilt, anxiety, and substance abuse. If that’s not enough⏤the aftermath of this systemic pain affects the families of those who have sacrificed life and limb for our country.

Let us not forget that the invisible emotional and psychological wounds can be passed from one generation to the next.

Gary Sinise will be transforming the lives of Military Veterans and First Responders through his new initiative called the “Relief + Resiliency Program.”

Sinise has partnered with two other pioneers in the field of transforming our nation’s warriors’ health crisis, the “Marcus Institute for Brain Health” and the “Boulder Crest Foundation.” Together, this cognitive and mental health program will serve the men and women of a paralyzing epidemic, one that is sure to grow and prosper as humanity embraces the long-overdue services of compassion and restoration.

The Marcus Institute for Brain Health is a clinical care and research institute founded in 2017 in Colorado. The institute uses both innovative and traditional methods in evaluating and treating psychological conditions and traumatic brain injuries—more on the Marcus Institute for Brain Health Home.

Since 2013, the Boulder Crest Foundation has dedicated its services to deal with the daily survival skills that many Veterans struggle with. More on the Boulder Crest Foundation.

Gary Sinise is truly an inspiration to us all, especially our military veterans and first responders. But who benefits the most are the children and other family members of these war-torn heroes. He is systematically healing a cycle of abuse from those who suffer from PTSD and substance abuse. Sinise realizes the future of our great nation rests on the shoulders of our children, let the healing begin.

Bless you, Gary Sinise. You are a giant among men.

“Yeah, I volunteered to support the troops and get out there and show them that we care about them,” – Gary Sinise.
