Now who hasn’t asked that rhetorical question at one time or another “why can’t we just get along”?

We sometimes utter this common refrain when observing what we think are futile conflicts between others. And the short answer is that we can not. Conflicts is part of our human nature, and this Human nature is believe it or not “emotional, not rational”. Conflicts are–and this may strike you as counterintuitive – important, it is significant that we don’t get along. There are times when we need to confront our differing viewpoints and learn to conflict in productive ways. The great irony is that the process of learning how not to get along is critical to building successful relationships and effective teams. But not when it comes to God!…or at least should not be.

Part 2 Fighting for God: Freedom of Religion

It is difficult to imagine a time in history at which there is greater need for serious interfaith engagement than now. We need to understand better the history of the different religions and relations so as to give context to current “hotspots” of religious conflict in the world. It is also important to understand the ways in which members of the these communities experience each other in specific areas of the world today, including the U.S., taking note of efforts currently underway to advance interfaith understanding and cooperation.

A two-part show like you’ve never heard before. We promise you this–you will have an entirely new understanding of religion, faith and spirituality after listening to the two-part production. Co-hosts Missy Crutchfield, Helene Philipsen, Linda Martinelli and DrFaye Wilson join Malcolm on a crusade of understanding!
