The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has not supported a Republican for president since 1972⏤that all changed in the 2020 election with the following op-ed:

Mr. Biden is too old for the job and fragile. There is a very real chance he will not make it through the term. Mr. Trump is also too old but seemingly robust. But in Mike Pence, Mr. Trump has a vice president ready to take over, if need be. He is a safe pair of hands. Sen. Kamala Harris gives no evidence of being ready to be president.

We believe Mr. Trump, for all his faults, is the better choice this year.

We will examine the op-ed and President Trump’s path to victory on the Voice of a Nation. Michael Johns is a national co-founder and leader of the U.S. Tea Party movement who endorsed President Trump on the first day of his candidacy in June 2015. He has served previously as a White House speechwriter to President George H.W. Bush, a senior aide to a U.S. Senator and Governor, and a policy analyst at The Heritage Foundation.
