It is now more than obvious that the Democrats are revising their platform for the 2018 Election and they are moving it farther and farther politically left. One of the two major platform issues Democrats have embraced for the 2018 Mid-term elections seems to be to protect MS-13 at all costs. HR 3697, also known as the Criminal Alien Gang Member Removal Act was overwhelming voted down on the floor of the House by the majority of Democrats.
The critical bill specifically called for the deportation of foreign illegal (non-citizen) gang members. That for one thing seems to be against everything liberals believe in and as such, they voted overwhelmingly to keep members of the radical and deadly MS-13 in the country, as well as members of any other criminal gang. Democrats claimed those “racist” Republicans voted to throw Nancy Pelosi’s “Humanity filled” people (read MS-13 gang members) by a vote of 233-175.
And oh by the way as I mentioned, what is the second platform issue? Raising your taxes, of course! So, if you want higher taxes and you support keeping the MS-13 from being deported, so they can continue their drug-crazed, rape, slaughter, murder and destruction – then the Democratic Party is for you.
Here’s the other irony of all of this, it’s the typical hypocrisy of the Democrats. It’s not just that MS-13 kills, its how they kill. They enjoy torturing their victims for as long as they can as a warning to others. When they capture a woman who refuses to go into selling their bodies, they will hit her as many times as they can with a baseball bat…and or cut off her head. Remember this is the party who is against our controlled Enhanced Interrogation (non-torture) of hard-core terrorists. That’s who Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats are sworn to protect… Not you.
To highlight, the key proponent of the Bill as it applies to MS-13, here is the summary of HR 3697:
(Sec. 2) This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to make an alien: (1) inadmissible if a consular officer, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), or the Department of Justice (DOJ) knows or has reason to believe that such person is or has been a member of a criminal gang or has participated in criminal gang activities; and (2) deportable if such person is or has been a member of a criminal gang, or has participated in criminal gang activities knowing that such activities will promote illegal activity.
Further, a “criminal gang” is defined as an ongoing group, club, organization, or association of five or more persons: (1) one of the primary purposes of which is the commission of specified criminal offenses and the members of which engage, or have engaged within the past five years, in a continuing series of such offenses; or (2) that has been designated as a criminal gang by DHS. Such offenses include: (1) felony drug offenses, (2) bringing in and harboring certain aliens, (3) assisting certain aliens to enter the United States, (4) importing aliens for immoral purposes, (5) crimes of violence, (6) obstruction of justice or witness tampering, (7) identification document fraud, (8) slavery and trafficking in persons, (9) money laundering, and (10) interstate or foreign travel in connection with a racketeering enterprise.
DHS: (1) may designate a group of five or more persons as a criminal gang based upon its conduct, and (2) shall publish a designation in the Federal Register seven days after providing congressional notification as provided for in this bill. A designation shall be effective until: (1) it is revoked or blocked by Congress; (2) DHS determines that the group no longer fits such designation or that national security or law enforcement interests warrant a revocation; or (3) it is judicially set aside. A group may file a petition for revocation with DHS. The bill prescribes DHS review provisions. A revocation of a designation shall not affect any proceeding based on conduct committed prior to the effective date of the revocation.
Additionally, it states that within 30-days after publication of a designation, an amended designation, or a determination in response to a petition for revocation, a designated group may seek judicial review with the U.S. Court of Appeals, DC Circuit.
The other critical aspect of the bill is that: (1) provides for mandatory detention of alien gang members; and (2) makes alien gang members ineligible for asylum, temporary protected status, special immigrant juvenile status, and parole (unless such an alien is assisting the United States in a law enforcement matter).
Despite this, we haven’t even addressed the national security implications of all this either.
President Trump charged that Democrats are supporting MS-13 gang members, even though they are “vicious killers” who need to be kicked out of the country.
“The Democrats are sticking up for MS-13. You heard Nancy Pelosi the other day like, trying to find all sorts of reasons why they should be able to stay,” Trump told Fox News in an interview that aired Thursday. “These are stone cold killers, vicious killers.”
Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., defended MS-13 gang members in recent weeks by saying Americans must “respect the dignity and worth of every person”… which she intentionally was inclusive of MS-13 and other violent gangs.
In a recent roundtable discussion on immigration, President Trump argued that MS-13 gang members are “animals,” which led some to say he was calling all immigrants “animals.” Obviously, was so far from the truth it was actually illogical for the political-left to try and even defend such a statement. “These are vicious killers and they shouldn’t be allowed into the country.” The President went on to say; “they need to be removed.”
In the end, while much of the mainstream media depicted Trump’s comments as nothing but a thinly veiled tirade of immigrant-bashing, voters saw it as a demonstration that the federal government was paying attention to a serious problem they care about.
As a result, this illustrates why, despite President Trump’s very real predilection for inflammatory statements about illegal immigration, liberal outrage about his stands is political poison outside of blue strongholds. Focusing on gang violence is exactly what much of the country thinks the federal government ought to be addressing and doing. Further, what is not mentioned is that most of the victims of such gangs are themselves immigrants.
President Trump has filled a vacuum of governmental indifference to these concerns. His willingness to talk about the problem — albeit often in a manner that is unbecoming of a president — reaches the average American and has persuaded those who felt they were being ignored to stay loyal to him despite the ongoing chaos in the White House and the mainstream media’s often single-minded focus on his flaws and scandals. In the eyes of Trump voters across America, the debate over whether murderers should be called “animals” is mere virtue-signaling from liberal elites, read Pelosi and Schumer and the Democrat Party and is actually more proof that these elites have lost touch with the concerns of ordinary voters. They have sold-out America and its principles and values to the hate America radical-left, Progressives and Marxists.
While Democrats are optimistic about a future in which minorities will make up a larger portion of the electorate. But in 2016, they saw what happens when a party whose support is increasingly limited to minorities, agenda driven elitists, and progressively educated whites ignores the concerns of the working class. Democrats’ assumption that President Trump’s MS-13 gambit is merely more evidence that he is hurting himself with the voters most likely is another such mistake on their part. Similarly, their Platform revisions which move it to further to the radical left is the other mistake, but certainly I’m not complaining.
