The recent horrific shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland has flooded the major media with disturbing images of the violence that left 17 dead, leaving many parents and children struggling with anxiety and fear. In the wake of the tragedy, we as mental health professionals and experts expect an increase in children having anxiety symptoms and parents needing information of what to look for.

In this show I cohost with my fellow mental health specialist/consultant, life coach Barb Roba urging parents to talk to their children to help them address, confront, and process their anxieties and concerns. Download the free pdf coping cards by Barb Roba to share with your children and teens. Parents, teachers can join Barb’s Facebook group on link below for live chats and discussions on emotional regulation.

Barb Roba is a Mental Health Counselor, School Counselor, and a Certified Coach with over a decade of direct experience working with children and families, consulting with teachers, helping families, and promoting positive parenting and educational initiatives. More importantly, she is a mom. Who is not ashamed to say her two boys have taught her a lot over the years about what it truly means to be a mom. Parents, teachers can join Barb’s Facebook group on link below for live chats and discussions on emotional regulation.
