There seems to be no limit to the arrogance and political greed of Chinese leader Xi Jinping or the amount of suffering he is willing to impose on his own people. From the brutal takeover of independence-loving Hong Kong; to the officially sanctioned imprisonment, torture, slavery, organ harvesting, and genocide of the Uyghurs, a people who make up nearly 50% of the population in China’s Xinjiang province; and the brutal persecution of followers of Falun Gong throughout China; Xi and his Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have created an industry of persecution, slavery, and genocide that should shock us all. But that is only the beginning.

The news about the source of the pandemic is finally emerging as real news, and not just the “conspiracy theory” that the Democrats have been deriding for well over a year. It’s all turning out to be true, as it always was.

On January 15th, 2020, I reported in my weekly podcast on America Out Loud that the industrial city of Wuhan in Hubei province was being ravaged by a mysterious virus that had escaped from the level-4 virology lab in that city of 11 million people.

And during the weeks that followed, I continued to report on the worsening situation as the virus spread throughout China when it was first discovered in Hong Kong, about the misinformation that the CCP was feeding to the world, and about the doctors who were punished for warning each other on social media about this mysterious virus. I even reported about the videos coming out of China that showed the swarms of people pushing and shoving in hospital corridors as they sought medical treatment, and about people suddenly falling over and dying in the streets of Wuhan. I wrote about how the numbers of sick and dead were vastly under-reported by the CCP, about the hospitals that were filled to overflowing, and about the crematoria that were working around the clock for weeks on end to cremate the exploding number dead. I also reported about how China had shut down Wuhan, forcing people to stay in their houses, locking them in, and closing off all travel to and from the city.

And I reported on how the CCP nevertheless allowed at least five million people from the infected city to travel internationally, at the height of the epidemic in Wuhan, to spread the virus to the rest of the world. And there is every indication now that this was intentional.

The CCP lied on just about everything connected to the virus – where it came from, how many people in China had become infected from it, and how many had died from it. And they shared the lies with their willing partner, the World Health Organization of the United Nations, who shared it with the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Washington, for whom Anthony Fauci was the pliable and deceitful spokesman. And he shared the lies with us – We the People.

For China, this was all part of a larger plan, one that involved laying claim to global dominance. President Xi has made no secret of his ambitions. Since taking power eight years ago, he has completely overhauled China’s military, economic, and political priorities in a world that is experiencing massive population and political shifts, and growing chaos. Now, Xi is preparing China to overtake and commandeer America’s role as the world leader.

Napoleon Bonaparte, the French military leader who crowned himself emperor of France, but who died in exile on remote St. Helena island more than two centuries ago, once said, “China is a sleeping lion. Let her sleep, for when she wakes, she will shake the world.”

That quote did not escape Xi Jinping, who, in 2014, repeated those words and then said, “In fact, the lion of China has awoken, but what the world sees now is a peaceful, amiable, civilized lion.”

He lied, of course. Because Xi Jinping and the CCP are anything but peaceful, amiable, or civilized. Lions seldom are. And even though he said this seven years ago, it is exactly how Xi wants the world to think of China today. While all the time, China has been plotting and moving forward on its secret plans to dominate the world.

History should have already taught us many powerful lessons about tyranny and the insatiable hunger of tyrants for power. Napoleon also once said, “If you wish to be a success in the world, promise everything, deliver nothing.” Xi is clearly a student of Napoleon.

When we look at China today, the brutal purge and genocide of the Uyghurs, the persecution of the Falun Gong, the brutal suppression of the Chinese people throughout the COVID-19 crisis which the Chinese government itself caused, we should now understand that if Xi is willing to do this to his own people, what will he not be willing to do to us?

And yet, there is a small ray of light coming through the red curtain of China as Xi faces several crises of his own making:

  • Fresh outbreaks of a new mutation of the coronavirus are erupting in China, the same virus that they created in their own labs;
  • The massive Three Gorges Dam – the largest in the world – is now in danger of a catastrophic failure because of a corrupt construction process and this year’s record rainfall. If the dam fails, the calamity will put the lives of 40 million people in mortal danger;
  • China’s economy is teetering on the brink of failure;
  • Another year of terrible famine is looming large in the immediate future;
  • And new intelligence suggests that the Chinese government is in panic and may even be on the verge of a coup.

And yet Xi and his comrades continue their efforts to expand their power so they can dominate and control the world.

Our President and the team that manages him seem to be oblivious to all of this because it does not, apparently, meet the objectives of their lust for money and power. Every American is therefore at the mercy of their ignorance and greed.

There is nothing more dangerous than a tyrant facing defeat by forces he can no longer control, and Xi Jinping is just such a danger, ready to strike out at anyone or anything that tries to stop his rise as Ruler of the World. He will strike out in any way he can. And at immediate risk are Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. From there, it’s just a short hop to attacking American interests on the high seas and in the homeland itself, and only America has the power and the capability to stop him.

But does our government have the will to stop him, or will they continue to seek ways to appease him? Will the sleeping giant – the great United States of America – once again miss the opportunity to defeat the Red Dragon before it strikes a blow from which we cannot recover? The time of opportunity is rapidly slipping away.
