🎧 A California State of Denial
Rollerblading in Venice, surfing in Malibu, chilling in the wine country–California has it all. Great weather, the entertainment capital, creative industries and new technology, all make California inviting. But is it still the land of dreams?
Out of all 50 states, the state of California has been ranked as the worst state for business for 12 years in a row. California has the highest state income tax rates in the entire nation. Los Angeles has the distinction of having the worst traffic in the world, and other cities in the state are congested with traffic problems that bring life to a standstill. The “lawsuit climate” in California is ranked 47th out of all 50 states. Housing cost is skyrocketing. And Homelessness throughout the state may be the biggest challenge yet as politicians battle the federal government on border security and illegal immigration.
For some, the dreams have transitioned to an exit strategy as the Golden State ranks No. 1 as the state where more people leave than move there. The state has lost more than 3.5 million people to other states from 2010 to 2015. Co-hosts Linda Martinelli, Susan Price and from Season One, Barbara Mcgee join LIFE LIBERTY to explore this state of denial that has become California.
