In March, we seemed to have a brief respite from COVID. Some emergency measures were lifted, spring was arriving in the US, and it seemed illness was receding. Then Russia invaded Ukraine. Instead of anything related to COVID, we were caught up in considering the possibility of a nuclear strike somewhere in the world. What?

Survival in this war demands a no-holes-barred commitment to paying whatever price freedom requires. Our choice determines our reality. What’s it going to be?

From skyrocketing crime to rampant homelessness and poverty, from frequent power blackouts to uncontrolled forest fires, the once Golden State is fast becoming the nation’s basket case with more Californians fleeing the region than ever before. This week, Dr. Jay Lehr and Tom Harris are joined by Andy Caldwell, Executive Director of Coalition of Labor, Agriculture and Business (COLAB) Santa Barbara County in California. COLAB acts as both a government watchdog and promoter of these sectors in Santa Barbara. Mr. Caldwell discusses the growing problems of California, his once-wealthy and beautiful state. The Andy Caldwell Show airs from 3 – 5 pm Pacific Time on AM 1240 KSMA in Santa Maria, on AM1290 in Santa Barbara, and FM 98.5 in San Luis Obispo. It is the only local talk show to cover the entire California Central Coast. As a strong conservative in a very liberal county, Andy ran as a Republican for the district’s Seat (District 24) in the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2020 election. He pulled in a respectable 43.1% of the vote before eventually losing to the Democrat incumbent. Join Dr. Jay Lehr, Tom Harris, and guest Andy Caldwell in this week’s episode of The Other Side […]

When things go bad, it is often difficult to know you’ve reached the lowest point of the plummet. Sometimes you have to brace yourself for what comes next… Lisa Williams was at the lowest point of her life – so she thought. She was in the hospital surrounded by family as they disconnected the defibrillator from her dad. The silence in the room quickly filled with sobs of tears. It was at that moment Lisa heard a voice yell out “Stop Crying he will hear you Lisa.” Shocked at first that her stepmom would call her out at this very personal moment. And why her; when the entire room was emotional? She immediately went from sorrow to deep despair. Guilt consumed her. She felt the hospital was incompetent during the twelve days her dad spent in the hospital. As a daughter and clinical administrator, Lisa wanted to help her dad but was told to do nothing. This was against everything she believed. Dad’s death and the guilt of not acting, sent Lisa into a deep depression. Isolation. PTSD. Even a divorce. Everything was changing and not for the better. Depression affects more than 16 million men and women (almost 6.7 percent of the adult population) […]
And when such a call is combined with any act that seizes or destroys a strategic target, takes hostages, impedes civilian mobility, cripples supply lines, delays emergency response, or poses a threat of mass casualties, it should be understood and treated as such. Tom Cotton’s open encouragement of terrorists’ would-be victims in their own defense reflects the moral clarity necessary to discern terrorism from political protest…

The Dean’s List with Host Dean Bowen – The Supreme Court rules that Idaho’s law banning gender surgeries on minors can take effect during ongoing litigation. The law also restricts medical professionals from prescribing puberty blockers and hormones, citing health concerns…

Truth Be Told with Booker Scott – In 2021, the top 50% of filers earned 90% of all income, so half of Americans are earning 9 out of every 10 dollars. It would be easy to think that a fair share would be 90%; that’s fair, isn’t it? I’m not sure how much fairer Biden wants it and where he thinks he’s going to get it because that same 50% of filers pay 98% of all taxes the government receives…
Too often, peer review of scientific reports amounts to little more than “pal review,” a rubber stamp from supporters of the hypothesis being investigated. What is needed is to allow reports to be reviewed by many people on all sides of issues, both inside the scientific community and in the public at large. One prominent group is actually doing this — the London, UK-based Global Warming Policy Foundation…

From a young age, he learned that the inevitability of death is not something to be feared but appreciated for its ability to help us live a life of joy and wonder. Our time on this earth is limited, and we get to choose the legacy we will leave behind, always knowing there is something better waiting for us on the other side…
Having our military dollars going to an endless war in Ukraine and toward shooting down an endless supply of rockets and missiles over Israel helps China reach parity with our military. Banning all cars except those made with rare earth materials, it’s illegal to mine in the United States helps China’s economy, as does shuttering all forms of reliable and affordable energy. Our country is committing economic and political suicide…

As Congress debates renewing Section 702, concerns grow about continuing abuses of power and the erosion of civil liberties.
