In 2008, divorce left me emotionally exhausted, physically depleted and spiritually void. Feeling stuck in a “sucky” situation, I chose poor habits that led me down a dark path in the opposite direction of my dream life. Who would choose to live in a comfort zone (aka ‘stuck in suck’) barely surviving each day? Without an acute awareness, many Americans struggle with managing the stresses of life and in response choose poor behaviors to cope. It took divorce and the passing of a close friend’s son to slap me into the depths of the difficult and rewarding change process. My health and wellness journey was initiated by a strong desire to get physically fit and eventually led to crossing the Ironman finish line in 2011 (swim 2.2 miles, bike 112 miles, run 26.2 miles). I quickly realized that my focus on physical health was at the detriment of two critical disciplines – the emotional and spiritual pieces of my health and wellness journey. High Heels, High Hopes is fashioned to inspire you to dream big, be purposeful and to remove the fears that keep you wedged in a mediocre life! Get out of ‘stuck in suck’ and play with your fears!
