She was a victim of sexual abuse as a child and domestic violence victim as an adult. All of which contributed to many years of suffering before being diagnosed with PTSD, Depression, and Anxiety. She was married 3 times and divorced her last husband in 2012. Prior to her last divorce she lost weight via consistent exercise, nutrition, and Psychotherapy. Her weight lost, a size 24 down to a size 14.
Kimyetta Taylor is a walking testimony in how to turn the victim status into victor.
Kimyetta Taylor was born in Brooklyn, New York, May 29th 1973. She is the second oldest of 6 siblings, with one daughter and four grandsons. At the age of 24 during one of her classes at the community college, she discovered she was a poet. Since then she has been writing non- stop. Writing is her way of releasing the pain. Her first book “Atrurose” was published October, 2015 and her second book “Poetry works of an insane heart- A fool for love” 05/2016. She served as a Guardian Ad Liteum Child advocate from 2015 until 2016. She was a member of Toastmasters where she held a role as Sergeant at arms and Area Director, 2013 – 2016. Kimyetta became a certified Zumba instructor October 2017 and a Life Coach Novembe r2017.
In Oct 2015 she was a guest speaker at the Jacksonville Sherriff’s Domestic Violence Awareness Press Conference. She also appeared on the morning show and on NPR the same year. She will be publishing two children books before the end of the year 2017 “Who stole my Applesauce” and “Sometimes Chickens have purple feet”.
