The Debate Gets Uglier –
Senator Flake Runs Off the Rails and Compares Trump to Stalin
Today, outgoing Republican Senator Jeff Flake from Arizona hurled a barrage of invectives at Donald Trump on the Senate floor, about the President’s flagrant, no-holds-barred criticism of the mainstream media. Flake attributed “pernicious fantasies” to the President and compared him to Josef Stalin for calling the press “the enemy of the people”.
The mainstream media has been on a rampage for over a year, aided by runaway politicians, trying to bring down President Trump and drum him out of office. So far they have failed. Their weapons are made-up charges with little or no relationship to reality.
The credibility of the press is challenged daily because of its liberal bias and its inability to cover those stories that interest Americans. It is puzzling, for example, that while Wall Street is in an extraordinary and unprecedented bull market, with the DOW up 8,000 points since the election, the mainstream media goes out of its way to ignore what is coming to be known as “the Trump rally”. Just this last week the DOW achieved the fastest thousand dollar gain in its history, going from 25,000 to 26,000 in only seven trading. This is big news, but it is almost totally ignored, even by the home-town newspaper, the New York Times, whose editors didn’t think that this news was ‘fit to print’. It’s time for the press to work to restore its credibility with the truth, whether or not it fits with the liberal narrative.
NSA/CIA computers spied on Millions of Americans
According to whistleblower and former NSA/CIA contractor Dennis Montgomery, President Obama’s Director of National Intelligence (DNI) James Clapper and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) director John Brennan supervised a highly secret program called “The Hammer” (HAMR). Clapper and Brennan used a supercomputer system installed on federal property in Fort Washington, Maryland, to conduct millions of illegal and unconstitutional government data harvesting and wiretapping to spy on American citizens. “The Hammer” program used software programs that could breach secure computer systems and collect massive amounts of data. It recorded audio tapes, accessed the phone calls, emails, and bank accounts of millions of Americans.
Supposedly intended to provide surveillance of foreign nationals, it secretly spied on such notables as Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, 156 federal judges, members of Congress, and Donald Trump, to mention only a few. During the Presidential campaign of 2016, when then-candidate Trump complained that the Obama administration was ‘wiretapping’ him, the administration denied it and the press mocked him. Yet as the news continues to be released, his concerns have been confirmed by solid documentary evidence that his Constitutional rights and federal law were severely violated by the federal government he would one day lead.
Montgomery reported that 46 hard drives were provided to then-FBI Director James Comey, in addition to 600 million pages containing information on several thousand American citizens. According to Montgomery, the government can use this program to plant files like child pornography or state secrets on a person’s computer, making the owner vulnerable to blackmail or prosecution. The implications of this program raise far more questions than they answer, questions about the limits of federal authority and the need for much greater oversight.
Not surprisingly, the Hammer program didn’t catch any terrorists, not in Orlando, not in Boston, and not in San Bernardino. The program failed in its primary function, and severely compromised the American system of law and justice.
It is high time that the federal agencies that guard our security clean up their own houses and root out the corruption and disregard for the law that they, like the rest of us, are subject to.
That “The Hammer” program surveilled candidate Trump and his team is a very big story. Once the story is generally known, which is to say if the main stream media chooses to report it, the investigations that uncover it, the facts that are revealed, the indictments that follow, and the legal proceedings that try and prosecute the perpetrators will make Watergate look like a child’s game.
Former CIA Officer Unmasked Our Spies in China;
They Paid with Their Lives
Jerry Chun Shing Lee, 53, a naturalized U.S. citizen and former Central Intelligence Agency officer, was arrested as he was trying to leave the country at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport on a flight to Honolulu.
He was charged with illegally retaining classified information relating to the American spy network in China between 2010-2015. His notebooks, discovered in 2012 in an FBI search of his hotel room in Hawaii, contained lists of informants and details of their operations, according to the U.S. Justice Department affidavit. At least one of his notebooks contained top-secret information that, in the wrong hands, “could cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security of the United States”. The New YorkTimes reported that the Beijing government used the intelligence in his notebooks to dismantle U.S. spy operations and identify CIA operatives inside China.
In fact, at least a dozen U.S. intelligence operatives in China were compromised by Lee’s activities. China has boasted that they were arrested and, within a matter of weeks, they were executed. According to one report, one of those arrested was executed in the courtyard of his own apartment building, as an example to his neighbors.
That it took more than five years to arrest Lee leads to the supposition that the Obama administration either did not know or did not care that our intelligence assets in China were being compromised and were in mortal danger. Once again, a federal agency, upon which America depends for its national security, has run amok. A serious vetting of the entire agency needs to be done to end the corruption and wanton lack of concern for those we put in harm’s way.
