It is long past due, decades past due, for the American people to wake to the fact our national as well as state government was built around you, the American people; not the other way around. No other nation on Earth has this kind of republic. Ultimately, “We The People” are in charge over all government and it’s high time “We” started acting like it.

On April 4, 2017 President Donald J. Trump signed an Executive order under Title 32 USC requesting Governors send the National Guard to the southern border of the United States, two days later Arizona and New Mexico deployed the State Guard. The purpose of that order was to help secure the southern border. He said—

“The situation at the border has now reached a point of crisis. The lawlessness that continues at our southern border is fundamentally incompatible with the safety, security, and sovereignty of the American people. My administration has no choice but to act.”

The southern border spans 2000 miles and it will take a large number of National Guard to augment Border Patrol to protect it along suspected entry points. At present it appears there are not nearly enough to cover such a wide swath of border.

The southern border has long since been in our national security interest to protect from illegal crossings, but for whatever reason, political will or otherwise, there has never been enough manpower or adequate barriers to secure it for decades. Due to lack of suitable protection, multiples of millions of illegal aliens have poured in the United States for decades, bringing in drugs, weapons and where many Americans have been raped, robbed and killed by them.

During 2014, then Governor Perry of Texas sent National Guard troops to the border and some still remain there today on the Texas side.

During April 2017 a video was made congratulating President Trump on his accomplishments during his first few months in office as President and at the end of it a request was made to send the National Guard to the Border and close it down—

However, as the months rolled on and after repeated attempts to get his attention to close the dangerous southern border, more steps were taken to get his attention, even if it meant to embarrass him, because during that time the border was open during his watch and two Border Guards were attacked and one died.

Now there is no guarantee more control of the border would have prevented this, but the chances are that one of them would still be alive today had more help been on the border through even more National Guard help. However, an additional step was taken in a desperate attempt to secure action and it was made certain the president got this audio in many of his tweets on Twitter and by a survey answer to the various GOP enterprises. President Trump on Closing the Southern Border

The video and the audio had been sent to the President on numerous occasions. It was no pleasure doing so. However, as a 20 year retired military veteran from so long ago, I would be failing in my duty as an American, to my lifelong Oath to the U.S. Constitution and as one of the sovereign people over our government by failing to get the President to act.

Now, as to those who are “Never Trumpers” I say to you, there is a “bigger picture” and that picture is to keep our nation safe. It is a citizen’s duty, as a sovereign people to guide and watch our government. Not to sit back and do nothing as if the government can handle it, of which they have proven time and again, they can’t or won’t.

As to the “Always Trumpers”, it is foolhardy to place all your trust and even to fool yourself when the President seems to be off track, and then thinking to yourself, he is playing “3D chess”; “it’s all good”. The President is human, not God and makes mistakes that all other humans make, let that sink in. There are many reasons why those younger than this 63 year old think the way they do today, when it comes to trusting government, as if it has all the answers; facts are linked in this column as to why some younger than myself think the way they do.

As citizens of the United States for many decades, people of the United States usually only pay attention to government when it’s time to vote again, which is not the time to start paying attention. As many can see today this is why we are in the shape we are in now. We are the sovereign people of the United States, who hire temporary rulers/servants to do our bidding, yes our bidding and if the politicians don’t do our bidding we fire them. Time for the American people to finally wake and realize it’s not all about government governing us it’s about “We”, overall, controlling the outcome to our way of thinking.
