Lucifer? False Prophet? One Listener Sounds Off

I think it’s safe to say that nobody on the planet was expecting to hear the words that former Speaker of the House John Boehner shared with the world at his Stanford University speech on Senator Ted Cruz. “Lucifer in the flesh, I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.”

Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) seized on the comments with this, “Maybe he gives Lucifer a bad name by comparing him to Ted Cruz.”

Wow – and we are talking a ‘wow’ moment here. Boehner’s comments left everyone shaking their heads. Except that is perhaps, Pastor Thomas Hill. Days before the startling comments by Boehner, Pastor Tom Hill had written into the platform to comment on Senator Cruz with an eye-opening article he had written entitled – Ted Cruz: Champion or Charlatan, explaining that he was certain that Cruz was indeed a false prophet. I had Pastor Hill on the radio show to explain further – you can hear that interview here.

It is for certain that this election season is delivering prime time drama on a daily basis, hour by hour. Just when you think you’ve heard it all – bam, another comment, video, or article will shake-it-up. Well just after these were published, I was on radio in upstate New York and was asked about the Lucifer comments from the former Speaker of the House. I pretty much reiterated much of what I’m sharing with you here today. One listener sent an email in and sounded off and I thought It was worth sharing:

Malcolm – I have an issue w/ your reasoning. So because 2 people said Ted Cruz is ……..,  makes that something to worry about. huh?

I had respect for you. You have just gone down to the bottom of the barrel.

We had a tenant that was a big mouth liar. I am a bigger person than to tell the world this, she spread lies about my husband to as many people she could. I never was worried what our community would think- it reflects on this big mouth liar- that is where respectful peoples minds go. Shame on you. Bainer is a loser and the facts are plenty out there to provide proof- no body has to question that fact.

Like I said,  you have lowered yourself with your reasoning.

Your true colors have been revealed. Your word is not worth MUCH!

Bye  Bye, won’t be a fan/ listener…………. Carol Zuk.

My advice to Carol is to chill and stop taking her frustrations out on commentators who are opinion experts – such as myself – we are paid to provide our expertise and opinion – period. You may not like it, but hey this is America.

Funny thing in this case; I hardly delivered a strong opinion, but simply reiterated what the former speaker and the pastor had opined on. But here is the bigger point and the reason I took the time to talk about this crazy story.

America is made up of hundreds of ethnicities, with thousands of opinions and beliefs. Hardly any two people think or act the exact same – and is this not a beautiful thing? Isn’t this what makes our country awesome! The fact that we can all have different beliefs, can walk outside without being shot (if you live outside of Chicago that is), and still remain civil with one another.

I love it. I love our freedom. Perhaps Carol needed someone to lean on that morning – I don’t know, but I was happy to be her punching bag for the moment, and as I tell radio all the time, you can reach me at two different email addresses – you pick! or

They both work, coincidentally, I get 100 to 1 on the SpeakUp, but occasionally I will get under the skin of a Carol and she’ll let me have it.
