Therèse Tappouni is the author of six published books (fiction, poetry and non-fiction)—four of which have received major awards—and creator of two meditation/visualization CDs with her voice over the Prague Symphony Orchestra. Her latest non-fiction book, The Gifts of Grief: Finding Light in the Darkness of Loss, is available wherever books are sold, including signed copies from her website. She collaborated with Grammy®-nominated composer Michael Hoppé on his recent CD “Tapestry”, where she wrote a poem for each of his new compositions. She is currently working on a book about Iraq, and her memoir.

According to HeartMath®, Resilience is the capacity to prepare for, recover from and adapt in the face of stress, challenge or adversity. In today’s world, most would agree that we face challenge and adversity. The key is in the words “prepare for.” Most people believe resilience means the ability to bounce back. Therèse teaches the skills and tools of using the body’s energy and the energies of our environment to build energy reserves in order to thrive, not just survive.

She’s led sessions for corporations, organizations and individuals from California to Florida and is convinced that our energetic connectedness is the key to moving all issues from confrontation to cooperation. She knows that if we wait any longer, it may be too late, and she challenges our leaders and our people to put aside differences and concentrate on common needs and goals. Her focus in teaching is on civility, a way of being that is becoming a rare commodity in the press, on the internet and in personal living. She is the ultimate life-time learner.

She attended Hillsborough Community College and the University of Florida, and studied writing at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, USF and Eckerd College. Her passion arises from being mother to six and grandmother of three. Her oldest son died at the age of eleven, and, gradually, her attention shifted to of loss and grief in our society. Clients come to the office in Tampa or work by phone. She has served on many boards in the Tampa Bay area, several devoted to education. Most recently, she served on the board of the non-profit publisher Yellow Jacket Press in Tampa. She lives with her partner Lance Ware, also an author and a therapist.
