Compromise, What is it?

I am infrequently asked why I never speak about ‘compromise’ as a logical political solution to solving problems facing America. Well, it’s because the last half century of creeping socialism, a philosophy inimical to basic American ideals, i.e.: Constitutional, moral, ethical and legal, our social fiber has been slowly altered by compromise until American’s today hardly recognize what it meant to be an American. New Americans have no idea at all. Just ask them.

Once, we had two contending political parties both of which believed in the US Constitution and the rule of law. Eventually however, the Democrat Party became infected with the cancer of ‘Progressivism’, a feel good philosophy that believes we Americans would be happier if we only allowed them, the democrats, to use tax payer money to help the afflicted, the poor, the homeless, the halt, the lame, the lazy, the illegal & etc. That philosophy slowly matured until it ate away the Party’s once solid foundations for the working class and became its enemy.

Any arguments posited against these “feel good” programs however, were slapped down with derision, insult, hatred and even violence. Definitions of words were changed, meanings altered and new definitions substituted. “All we ask,” they say, “is to use the vast resources of the government (taxpayers) to invest (spend) in the less fortunate (losers), so they can feed (food stamps) their families (unrestricted child bearing) and enjoy a modicum of the good life (flat screen TV’s, Cadillacs) that the middle class (producers) enjoy as “life’s lottery winners.”

When the democrats have control of the spending purse there is no compromise, ever. When the GOP infrequently managed to control the purse strings, it was constantly yelled at them that they must “compromise”, because it’s “for the children” and other such nonsense. This crap went on for so long and the Republicans got so used to it that they could never think otherwise and fight back. They constantly compromise with the democrats while clutching at their hearts in fear they would be cast as unAmerican, unworthy, uncompromising, and unelectable.

As Joseph Goebbels, Propaganda Minister of the Third Reich said,”repeat the same lie over and over again and soon the people will believe it.” The Republican’s certainly did and now they are losing their conservative base if it has not already gone over to Donald Trump. A good candidate, Ted Cruz, also waits in the wings. He doesn’t compromise or throw away GOP gains either because the democrats demand he compromise.

Compromise only works well when haggling over the price of a car, parents discussing behavior control of children, and employees discussing pay contracts. Compromise is not the solution to points of principle that affect our freedoms. It’s the corrupted Democrats who demand our compromise between Americanism and Socialism, in whatever guise it assumes, fascism, progressivism or communism, a concept the GOP, by all current evidence, has entirely abandoned. Compromise, for Democrats, is a one way street. We have allowed them to set the terms, identify the goals and redefine the message and, they say, the Republicans had better compromise of they will surely lose any possibility of support from the voting loser class. They tremble in fear!

To our imminent danger, they now demand we compromise our principles to permit the odious, death dealing, women beating, 7th Century concepts of Shariah Law act as a counterpoint to our Rule of Law and the US Constitution. It all starts with compromise. Must we compromise all just to appease a blood-thirsty, theocratic culture of no compromise, ever. No, No, No!

Remember, freedom is the goal, the constitution is the way.
Now, go get ‘em!
