Can You Hear The Silence?

I have a bad habit of allowing Life to be too noisy.
Every once in a while,
I get to experience something that invites everything around me to slow down.
It takes a fraction of time for my surroundings to come into focus.
My breathing slows.
My vision clears internally, almost as if I’m waking from a dream.
I become hyper-aware of my setting.
The touch of a blade of grass, the sound the wind is making while that insect struggles to get where it’s going, the feel of the sun’s warmth on the top of my head because I’m not wearing a hat today…
I’ve found that the more time I take to be mindful of my surroundings, the more time Life gives me to let my surroundings be mindful of me. If I embrace moments like these, why do I not create space for me to have these connections more often?
When was the last time You made time to listen to the silence?
