No other country has a Bill of Rights or a Constitution comparable to the United States of America. What’s the point of having a Constitution, a bi-cameral congress, separation of powers, three branches of government? Here’s the dirty little secret: those who do not understand these precious rights are doomed to relinquish them much too quickly.

As I watch grieving parents and students with huge signs in Florida, denigrating President Trump, no matter what he does—it’s with a heavy heart I write this article.

Why? Because when people wish to toss our rights aside so casually—I wonder if they understand tyranny. I ask myself if they’ve ever been taught about our Founding Fathers. But, I really don’t have to wonder. I know the answer to that question. It’s obvious to me that people who are willing to hand over their rights, or worse, to infringe upon my right to bear arms—it makes the depth of the tragedy undertaken in Parkland even deeper.

How can I give them a history lesson in 100-words or less? They probably wouldn’t read it anyway. They’ve been taught to dislike people like me.

These students and parents have been convinced by the Leftist Progressives in this country that we do not need gunsGuns are bad. The gun created this crime. They actually believe it. They truly think they’re living in tyranny right now, right here in America.

I’ll explain to you what real tyranny is—it’s a government that is corrupt and turns on its people and starves them to death (think North Korea). It’s a government that’s bankrupted by socialism, unable to function, and are now eating zoo animals (think Venezuela). It’s a government that’s taken gun control to the max leaving its citizens unarmed and vulnerable to violent criminals (think Europe).

I won’t quote statistics here because Leftists will try to discredit them. But, I will say this:  gun-free zones in America are the most dangerous places in America (think Chicago, New York City, Baltimore). The fact of the matter is: more guns in the hands of good people make a town, city, or state safer.

But, back to that thing called The Constitution. How important is it to even have a Constitution? Lots of people are saying we should forget about The Constitution—who needs it? Why can’t we just be like Europe?

The Constitution and Bill of Rights is so vital to this country, they make America the freest nation on the planet. But, here’s the rub:  Leftist-Progressives would like a “loose interpretation” of these documents. Conservatives and Libertarians would like a “strict interpretation” of these documents. And, never the twain shall meet. And, there’s this little thing called The Declaration of Independence, in which rights are endowed by a Creator. Yes, God-given rights, not government-given rights.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

Here’s the problem: Leftist-Progressives (think Communism) have very much influenced America, especially in educational systems from K-University. The first order of business was to remove God from everything.

Leftist-Progressives (think Communism) has also influenced our pop-culture, i.e. movies, television, social media. This influence has been so completely imbedded, there’s a radical disconnect between our Founders and young people today. How did that happen? We have allowed it to happen by handing our most precious resource, our children, to Leftist Progressives to teach then a revised version of history filled with lies. The problem is, we didn’t teach our children to be ‘critical thinkers’ and to question authority. So, all the revised history and fake global warming took the place of a real education.

So, now the question is: can we save the Republic? The Founding Fathers told us that defeat of America would come from within. They were wise men.

The youth are our future.

My suggestion? Parents need to start homeschooling their children in American History—there are free on-line lessons at Hillsdale College. And for the little ones, there’s an excellent Rush Revere series written by Rush Limbaugh.

Another good idea would be to contact Nick Adams of FlagUSA.org. He will come to your school and give a presentation about our Founding Fathers, The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights. Nick is a legal immigrant from Australia, and once you’ve heard him speak about America, you will be moved.

Trusting our children to Leftist Progressives hasn’t gone well. It’s time we make this right.
